About Bilinda

Hello, I’m Bilinda Lou. My journey with music began when I was 5, and the piano has been a constant companion in my life. I first started learning the piano when I was a child, and even as a teenager, I knew I wanted to share this incredible art form with others.

I began teaching piano in high school, and it quickly became clear to me that education and music would be my life’s work. My passion for teaching grew as I continued my studies, earning my Master’s degree in Piano Performance, where I honed both my technical skills and my understanding of music theory and history. My educational background helped me deepen my connection to music on a personal and academic level, and this is something I aim to pass on to my students—an understanding that music is not just about playing notes, but about expressing oneself and connecting to something much larger than we are.

After my studies, I started my piano studio in 2015 in Los Angeles. There, I had the privilege of teaching a wide range of students, from young children to adults, and I quickly realized that teaching adult students—whether they were returning to the piano after years or learning for the first time—was a true passion of mine. My teaching is designed to be systematic, clear, and adaptable to each student’s goals. Whether you're just starting or aiming for a more advanced level, I want you to feel supported, challenged, and confident in your musical journey.

In 2025, I made the exciting move to Oak Park, IL, where I now offer both in-person and online piano lessons. I continue to draw inspiration from my own experience as a student, remembering how powerful it felt to reach a new musical milestone, and how important it is to have a teacher who truly listens and adjusts their approach to help you succeed.

I believe that every student is different, which is why I work hard to tailor lessons specifically to your musical goals. Whether you’re looking to explore the piano for the first time, improve your technique, learn music theory, or prepare for performance or exams, I’ll customize each lesson to meet you where you are and push you towards where you want to go. It’s not just about learning to play the piano—it’s about gaining a deeper appreciation for the language of music and enjoying the process of growth.

Over the years, I’ve worked with a variety of students, from those seeking a fun, extra-curricular activity, to those serious about mastering the piano. Through it all, one thing remains constant: music is a lifelong journey. The piano has given me so much joy, and I want to share that with my students, helping them unlock the same sense of accomplishment and satisfaction through their music.

Whether you’re in Oak Park, IL, or anywhere else in the world, I offer both online lessons and in-person sessions that allow you to learn at your own pace, and I’m excited to be a part of your musical journey.
