About the Instructor

Hi, I’m Bilinda, a professional pianist and piano teacher with a Master’s degree in Piano Performance and over 10 years of teaching experience.

I love helping adults discover—or rediscover—the joy of playing piano. I know that learning as an adult can feel very different from learning as a child, especially when you’re trying to fit practice into a busy life or learning on your own.

My teaching approach is systematic, clear, and encouraging. I believe you should understand what you’re playing, how to practice it, and why it works—not simply follow instructions and memorize notes.

Whether you’re starting from the very beginning or returning to piano after many years, my goal is to give you the knowledge, tools, and confidence to become an independent and musical pianist.

  • This course is designed for complete beginners and returning piano students who want to build a solid, systematic foundation in piano playing. Whether you are starting from scratch or coming back to the piano after years away, you’ll learn step by step without feeling overwhelmed.

  • By the end of the course, you will have a solid foundation in note reading, rhythm, technique, music theory, and playing in major and minor keys. You’ll work through material from the beginner level toward late-beginner and early-intermediate playing.

    You should be comfortable finding and learning music independently, including pieces in keys with up to one sharp or one flat, rhythms including eighth notes and eighth-note triplets, and the fundamental skills needed to continue progressing on your own.

  • No. The course starts from the fundamentals and builds your skills step by step. If you have played piano before but feel like you never developed a strong foundation, this course is also a great way to fill in the gaps.

  • This course goes beyond learning individual pieces. You’ll develop note reading, rhythm, technique, music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and musical understanding so you can become a more independent pianist rather than simply memorizing songs.

Multiple camera angles help you see important details of hand position, technique, and pedaling.

  • YouTube can give you individual lessons and tutorials, but it can be difficult to know what to learn next or whether you’re missing important foundations. This course follows a structured progression, so your skills develop in a logical order rather than from disconnected videos.

  • That’s one of the main goals. Rather than simply teaching you a collection of songs, the course gives you the foundational skills and understanding you need to continue exploring the piano independently.
